Early generation lighting controls provided energy savings but were difficult and expensive to fit retrospectively, requiring specialist engineers. Once installed, they were difficult to alter and not well suited to respond to changing building requirements.
LightForge banishes these problems. Installation and initial configuration is simple and controls can be altered at the touch of a button to meet a building’s changing needs. Comparisons with existing technology are impressive, it is capable of controlling 500 devices from one wireless gateway.
LightForge will also allow connection to Building Management Systems and enable a variety of control strategies to be employed, for example daylight harvesting, occupancy sensing, time scheduling, and scene setting.
41% of commercial electricity consumption in the UK is due to lighting, making it the single highest contributing item on an energy bill.
80% of all buildings which will be in use in 2050 have already been built.
75% of all the controllable lighting sold in Europe today is not currently controlled.
How it works
There is HUGE potential for energy savings through lighting controls which are easy to install and capable of retrofit.
Commissioning made Easy
Early generation lighting controls provided energy savings but were difficult and expensive to fit retrospectively, requiring specialist engineers. Once installed, they were difficult to alter and not well suited to respond to changing occupancy patterns in buildings. LightForge banishes these problems. Installation and initial configuration are simple.
The system has been designed to facilitate the user experience. Control strategies using occupancy detection, scene switches, daylight harvesting, time scheduling, or via a combination of all these measures, can be easily applied by the end user, over one or multiple sites via the front end without the need for calling out any specialist engineers.
We work with commissioning teams to tailor tools that simplify the commissioning process.
Full reporting and scheduling of self-test fittings can be easily made available, with DALI enabled emergency fittings.
Save on the costs of monthly call-out charges for your emergency functional and duration tests, whilst ensuring you have a record of all test results, enabling full compliance to be achieved with the minimum of maintenance or human intervention
Configure the system to run repeat monthly tests and set email notifications to maintenance teams highlighting devices that have failed and need urgent attention.
Use visualisation reports to show the failed devices on a floor-plan making it easy for the maintenance team to locate these devices and remedy the issue as soon as possible ensuring the safety of building occupants.
ENERGY SAVING SMART CONTROLS
Light settings can be adapted to task, time of day, and occupancy. LightForge lets you program connected lighting remotely by area, schedule, or activity.
Tailor light schedules and dimming programs around your opening hours and activities. Deliver the right light at the right time. Save energy & money with the use of occupancy sensors to guarantee you are never left in the dark whilst only ever using energy when it is required. Install switches and configure these to allow the grouping of lights set to respond at varying levels with the simple press of a button. Configure your lighting for daylight harvesting, to exploit the natural lighting already available in your building and reduce your energy costs.
Create an energising smart building environment while improving safety and quality control.
FUTURE-PROOF YOUR FACILITY
The LightForge solution can be used across a wide range of industry applications, with specific benefits for each. A significant benefit of the LightForge solution is that it is scalable.
There is no limit to the number of Gateways, therefore no limit to the number of devices which can be managed by the Hub. A single Hub can control multiple sites and supporting access from multiple users.
As new features are added to the LightForge system, these are automatically rolled out and deployed over the air to existing customers. There is no need for site visits from specialist engineers.
Integration is made easy between the LightForge Hub and your building infrastructure, we can combine your existing building management systems, making control aligned and in one place.
Likewise, we can integrate with your already onsite switching controls, for example you could control your lighting through your alarm panel.
